Centering Guidelines and Practice
A Tool for More Effective Team Conversations
Under VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) conditions, as leaders we often experience overwhelm - and our teams experience churn. Churn is where a team might witness a lack of alignment, different definitions of a problem, rework, conflicting directives, or pointless heroics. All of these are signs of reactivity driven by our environment.
Centering is an exercise that will help you regain your balance, calming yourself prior to a stressful interaction or simply a busy day. Use this intentionally to prepare for a stress-inducing situation, meeting, or presentation.
The video provided will help give some context for what centering is and how to practice it, as well as a guided recording to lead you through the practice step-by-step.
